Jack's Generic Triathlon

When: 08/02/2009 - 08:00
Distance: Sprint
Location: New Braunfels, Texas
Trizones Goal Race
On the Web: http://www.jacksgenerictri....
A great triathlon event that is short enough for the beginner, and still challenging enough for the experienced athletes to 'light it up'. Held at the Texas Ski Ranch, this is an event you definitely don't want to miss. Jack's Generic Tri, is, well, it's Generic. Created as a return to the events of old, when everything was all about the participants. Jack's is one of the best well run, safest, and most fun triathlon events you will ever do.

Who's in, I was thinking about registering for this triathlon and was wondering if more trizoners were going to participate.

I'm In

In a fit of excessive ambition, I signed up ages ago for eight triathlons this summer, including Jack's. It's a great race -- very similar to Skeese but a little longer. Since it's run by the same people in the same location, it has a similar feel to it. The mail additional difference is that a lot of men compete as well.

Volunteering

If I don't get overcome with the "fit of excessive ambition" as Jody puts it, the plan for now is to volunteer.  We'll see what transpires.  I have a feeling the peer pressure will get to me though.  :)

Tri Zoners, if you'll be at Jack's Generic, let us know on our forum post. Wahoo!

I'm planning on this one.

I love the ski ranch - the distance, not the water quality!

Jack's Generic

I'm going generic too -- I'm signed up. Sounds like fun!

How does one volunteer

Thinking about doing this one as my 1st Tri.  Depends on how my swimming is coming along though.  I would like to volunteer at a race if possible.  How does one do that?

Great Idea

Signing up to volunteer is easy. Just go to the race website and click the Volunteer button. Usually, there's an email address where you can send your contact information and your preferred activity if you know what you'd like to help with, although youo don't have to spedify anything in particular. The volunteer coordinator will usually get right back to you.
