Question regarding race numbers for helmets & bikes -- Skeese Greets

Can someone please tell me the proper placement of the race number stickers that go on the helmet and bike?  Do they have to face a certain way (front and back or left and right side)?  Thanks!

Lots of numbers...

Michele,

Usually there is a little number for the front of your helmet so that officials can see your number from the front.

Then there will be a 'tent' type number that fits over the top horizontal bar of your frame, between your seat and the handlebars so that officials can see your number from the side.

I saw another member's numbers for Skeese and it looks like you also have a number for your stem.  That is not as common and the only other time I saw one at a race, we put it so the number faced front.  Hopefully that is what they want...Maybe there are instructions on the website??

Have fun getting ready!!  And have a great race!!
See you at swim exit!

do the best you can

I had trouble with the one for the frame too, because it wasn't the folded card type or the sticky only at the bottom type I am used to. So I improvised the best I could but it took me a long time to find a good way to do it. I have a frame pump that lives on my top tube and it always presents a challenge attaching bike race numbers, this time even more so because the frame sticker isn't as 'deep' as the other types. Therefore I couldn't get it over the frame pump.

Coming in late

but I assume this won't be your last Tri.  : )

I like my number on my seat stem under my seat so it doesn't flab against my thighs while I race (very annoying).  Sometimes i just tape it to the sides of my under the seat bag - so long as they can read it I have never had a complaint.

Also, the volunteers that number your arms will often put the numbers on the outsideof your arms, but if you want to be assured you will be able to find all the pix of you riding during the race, ask them to number the front of your arms so the number is clearly visible from the front when your hands are on the handlebars. (just my 2 cents) .

Hope you had a great fun race!
